Pat Monahan is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actor who has an estimated net worth of $16 million. Best known as the songwriter and lead singer of the band Train, Pat Monahan has also tried venturing into a solo career which earned him his own album while he has collaborated as well with other music artists.
Born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, Pat's music career started with the cover band Rogues Gallery from 1988 to 1990. When the group disbanded, he moved to California where he was introduced to Rob Hotchkiss. Later on, the band Train was officially formed with the addition of Jimmy Stafford, Charlie Colin and Scott Underwood. Together, they were able to release 4 albums. The band has also received two Grammys in 2002 - one for the song "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)", which was written by Monahan and inspired by his late mother, who had died of cancer.
Throughout his entire music career, Pat Monahan has worked with other popular music artists including INXS, Martina McBride, Vicci Martinez and The Hollies, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. He also sung the U.S. National Anthem at various events. On April 7, 2007, he inducted Journey into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
