About Levi Stubbs
Levi Stubbs is the stage name of an American soul singer who has an estimated net worth of $7 million. Born Levi Stubbles on June 6, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, his music career began when The Four Aims was formed in 1954 along with his musical friends Abdul Fakir, Renaldo Benson, and Lawrence Payton. The group’s name was changed to The Four Tops two years later when they signed to Chess Records. The talented group made their big breakthrough in 1963 and later signed with Motown Records. They were one of the top-selling groups during the 60’s as they produced a string of hits. They have sold more than 50 million records around the world.
Stubbs is the most prominent member of the group. He was the lead vocalist for the band and has stayed with the group over the years despite the many offers for a solo career. The group has remained intact and continued to produce several hits until the death of Payton in 1997. He also suffered a stroke in 2000 and was replaced as the lead singer. He died on October 17, 2008.
Levi Stubbs was also a voice actor. He was famous to have provided his voice for Audrey II, an alien plant in the music horror film Little Shop of Horrors (1986) and as Mother Brain in Captain N: The Games Master (1989).
