Julianne started early. She was already dancing in different competitions when she was just nine years of age. Of course it helped that she comes from a family that is into dancing as well. For instance, her brother and three elder sisters are also into dancing. Her grandparents were dancers too. But Julianne’s parents were not into dancing. None of them have of course made such a name like Hough.

She won the season four of the television show “Dancing with the Stars” with her partner Apolo Ohno, the speed skater. She thus emerged as the youngest dancer to win the program. She returned to the show the next season with a new partner. Julianne won it again with Hélio Castroneves, who has won the Indianapolis 500 thrice. Hough participated in season six as well with the host and comedian Adam Carolla. However this time, the duo was eliminated on the fourth week.

Later in her life, Julianne Hough has ventured into music as well, and she has done well in this too. Her debut album reached #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart. 67,000 copies were sold on the first week. Overall, it has sold 320,000 copies. Her holiday album, “Sounds of the Season: The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection” did well too. It sold 157,000 copies. She received an Emmy Awards nomination in the “Outstanding Choreography” for Mambo “Para Los Rumberos”. She won the “Top New Female Vocalist” Academy of Country Music Awards in 2008.
