Currently worth $6 million, Johnny Van Zant is an American musician who currently works as the lead vocalist of the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He is known to be the younger brother of Donnie Van Zant, the founder of 38 Special band, and Ronnie Van Zant, the former lead vocalist and one of the founders of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In the 1970's, Zant started his music career with the band The Austin Nickels Band which they later renamed to The Johnny Van Zant Band. From 1981 through 1985, Johnny Van Zant released more three solo albums until his career came into hiatus.
When Lynyrd Skynyrd reunited in 1987, Van Zant resumed his role in the band as the lead vocalist. Three years later, his solo album titled Brickyard Road was released. The album spawned a very popular single which remained on the #1 spot in U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for around three weeks. With Lynyrd Skynyrd, he released four more albums titled Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991, The Last Rebel, Twenty and Edge of Forever. In 2009, the band released the album titled God & Guns, and by 2012, another album titled Last of a Dyin' Breed was introduced.
