The first studio album she released was “Live Again/Renacer” in 1977. Since then, Gloria has released an album almost every year, the last one being “Miss Little Havana” in 2011. Sometimes, Gloria has released more than one album in one calendar year. In total, she has released 30 studio albums. Many of these albums have been huge commercial successes. They have been critically acclaimed as well. This is why Estefan has won as many as seven Grammy Awards. Estefan has written a couple of books for children, one of which even reached the New York Times Bestseller list and ranked there at #3. She also collaborated on a cookbook that delves into traditional Cuban recipes.

She is a Cuban-born American with very good language abilities who travels the world. This is why she was once considered as a CIA employee. She was approached by the CIA. But she thankfully declined, deciding to work on her music instead.
