Gloria Estefan is among the most successful musicians of all times, her net worth currently stands at $500 million. A Cuban-born American, Gloria is a songwriter, singer, an actress and even an entrepreneur. Estefan is in the list of top 100 best-selling music artists. Her wealth comes from selling about 100 Million records across the world. She has sold more than 31 Million records just in the US. Critics say that she is the most successful crossover Latin music performer ever.
The first studio album she released was “Live Again/Renacer” in 1977. Since then, Gloria has released an album almost every year, the last one being “Miss Little Havana” in 2011. Sometimes, Gloria has released more than one album in one calendar year. In total, she has released 30 studio albums. Many of these albums have been huge commercial successes. They have been critically acclaimed as well. This is why Estefan has won as many as seven Grammy Awards. Gloria has also won the Hispanic Heritage Award, MTV Video Music Award, Ellis Island Congressional Medal of Honor, and the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement.
She does a lot of other things apart from singing. She has appeared in a few documentaries and television films, such as Music of the Heart, For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, 90 Millas Documentary, Marley & Me, Your Mommy Kills Animals, and a few more. Estefan has written a couple of books for children, one of which even reached the New York Times Bestseller list and ranked there at #3. She also collaborated on a cookbook that delves into traditional Cuban recipes.
She is a Cuban-born American with very good language abilities who travels the world. This is why she was once considered as a CIA employee. She was approached by the CIA. But she thankfully declined, deciding to work on her music instead.
