Singer, songwriter, dancer, and model, Ginuwine has an approximate net worth of $5 million. Born on October 15, 1970 as Elgin B. Lumpkin, he is more commonly known as Ginuwine and comes from Washington D.C. He is named after Elgin Baylor, an NBA legend who was also born in Washington.
He started his music career in the mid-1990's when he was signed by the Epic records. This was after graduating from Prince George's Community College where he was pursuing a paralegal associates degree. He released his debut single in 1996 with lots of participation by Timbaland, another successful musician. Since then, he has released many platinum and multi-platinum singles and albums. In 2002, he was featured in a comedy film called Juwamanna Mann as a basketball player. Many of his songs have done well in the top-twenty R&B hit song charts.
He lost both his father and mother in the year 2000 to suicide and cancer, respectively. This put him into a depression but he managed much better after attending counseling.
