About Eddie Money
Eddie Money with a net worth of $20 Million is an American rock guitarist, and saxophonist. He is also a singer-songwriter. Eddie Money has earned his money through his career in the music industry in the 1970s and 1980s. A number of Top 40 hits and platinum albums have made him a huge hit.
He used to perform as a regular at area clubs. His success was eventually recognized as he was awarded a recording contract by Columbia Records. Recording singles such as “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise” in 1970’s brought him success, recognition and wealth.
Eddie Money was born on 21st March, 1949 in Brooklyn. He belongs to an Irish Catholic family – he was raised in Plainedge on Long Island. Eddie’s father, brother and grandfather used to work in the New York City Police Department and therefore Eddie too started his adult life as a police officer. He finally left his job at NYPD and moved to Berkley, California in the hope to become a musician, his true passion.
Money’s career went through a drastic change after several unsuccessful releases in the mid-1980s. His drug addiction accompanied by a number of flop albums put him in a very troubled position in life. However, Eddie was able to make a comeback in 1986 with the album “Can’t Hold Back”. The album’s Ronnie Spector duet “Take Me Home Tonight” soon attained a Top 10 position. Eddie gave another Top 10 hit subsequently, “Walk on Water” in 1988. In 1992, “I’ll Get By” reached #21 on the charts.
