Along with his sibling Rocky Hill and upcoming other ZZ Top participant Frank Beard, Dusty Hill performed in the regional Facilities groups “The Warlocks”, “The Cellar Dwellers”, and with the American Blues. From 1966 to 1968, American Blues unquestionably did the Dallas-Fort Worth-Houston routine. In 1968, the band made the decision to keep the Dallas-Fort Value place and transfer to Houston. Presently, however, guitarist Rocky Hill desired to focus on “straight blues,” while Dusty desired the band to rock more. Rocky remained in the group, and Dusty and Beard shifted to Austin, becoming a participant of guitarist/vocalist Billy Gibbons of Austin psychedelic-rockers Moving Sidewalks to establish “ZZ Top” in 1969.
