Littrell's career began when he joined the Backstreet Boys in 1993 following an invitation from his cousin Kevin Richardson. In the beginning, the group was not successful in the US. Lou Pearlman, their manager, marketed them in Europe. They became commercially successful in European countries in 1995. As time progressed, their popularity extended beyond Europe to the US and Latin America. The group released a total of nine studio albums including "Millennium" which was released in May 1999 and cemented their superstardom status. Up to date, their record sales exceed 130 million copies worldwide making them the best-selling boy band of all time.

Littrell, a born again Christian, had always wanted to record Christian music. In May 2006, he released his debut solo album "Welcome Home". It peaked at #74 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Christian Albums chart. His efforts in the Christian music industry have seen him win several awards including the Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year award in the 2006 GMA Dove awards for his single "In Christ Alone". He has made appearances in the TV shows Arthur, Sesame Street, Saturday Night Live and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. He also appeared in the 2013 comedy film "This Is The End" together with the other members of the Backstreet Boys.

Brian Littrell was born on February 20, 1975 in Lexington, Kentucky. He had a heart defect right from birth that made him encounter several severe conditions over the course of his life.
