A top music executive, Roger Ames started his career with EMI in 1975 and later became the head of London Records, taken over in 1999 by Warner in a £140m deal. At the time it was stated that London Records was acquired from a "discretionary trust, of which Roger Ames is a beneficiary”. He rejoined EMI in 2005, having run Warner’s music operations from 1999 to 2004. He left EMI in 2008 but continued there as a consultant. Assuming he owned most of London Records, Ames has a net worth of $200 million.
