Haitian musician and former Fugees star, Wyclef Jean has an estimated net worth of $10 million. At age nine, Jean moved to the United States with his family and spent much of his life in the US. He first received fame as a member of the acclaimed New Jersey hip hop group, the Fugees (The Refugee Camp).
Jean filed for candidacy in the 2010 Haitian presidential election, although the Electoral Commission subsequently ruled him ineligible to stand as he had not met the requirement to have been resident in Haiti for five years.
Jean was shot in the right hand by an unknown assailant on the eve of the presidential elections in Haiti at 23:00 local time on March 19, 2011, near the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. He was released from hospital after being treated the following day.
