Sandra Denton was born on November 9, 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica. Denton was still in college when she and Cheryl “Salt” James met. Eventually, they released “The Showstopper” single which became a moderate R&B hit. It was in 1986 when Deidra “Spinderella” Roper joined the group. To date, the trio has already released five albums which include Brand New (1997), Very Necessary (1993), Blacks’ Magic (1990), A Salt with a Deadly Pepa (1988), and “Hot, Cool, and Vicious” (1986). In 2002, the group disbanded.
