James Roberts  aka Ed Lover, is an American rapper, radio personality, actor and former MTV VJ. Born in 12th February 1963 in Queens, New York, Ed Lover began his music career as part of a hip hop group known as No Face. The group only released one album in their five years of recording. Despite being a significant member of the group, his name was not credited in the album.

Ed Lover left the group for reasons best known to him. He was the co-host of MTV's hip hop program "Yo! MTV Raps Today". It was on this show that Ed came up with his own dance routine known as the Ed Lover Dance. This dance was very popular in the 90's.

He teamed up with his co-host Dre to release an album " Back Up Off Me" in 1994. The album was poorly received. The previous year he had starred in the movie "Who's the Man," which was well received. Ed went on to become a radio personality on Radio Power.

In 2002, he was featured in VH-1 top 100 Greatest One-Hit wonders. He is currently the host of the TV program "Hip Hop Hold 'Em".
