Christopher Edward Martin is better known by his pseudonym DJ Premier has a net worth of $20 million. Born in Houston, Texas on March 21, 1966, DJ Premier formed the first half of the hip-hop duo Gang Starr. Despite not being a founding member of the rap group, DJ Premier is credited with producing nearly every one of Gang Starr’s songs.
In addition to producing for Gang Starr, DJ Premier has also collaborated with Ludacris, Notorious B.I.G., Xzibit and many more artists from a variety of musical genres. Known for producing sounds and tracks that utilize soul and jazz melodies, DJ Premier has been named one of hip-hop’s most successful and best producers ever. In fact, The Source has named DJ Premier on their list of the 20 greatest producers in the history of the magazine.
Currently, DJ Premier owns his own record label company named Year Round Records. Many of DJ Premier’s artists on his record label are just beginning their careers and several have albums due out in the near future. Additionally, DJ Premier is the host of his own 2-hour long SIRIUS Satellite radio show held every Friday.
