Avinoam Lerner was born on October 13, 1947 in Haifa, Israel.

He is known to be the founder of Millennium Films and Nu Image   production companies. These companies often produced action films which were mostly filmed in Bulgaria. In 2007, they acquired First Look Studios. For quite a long time, he was considered as a B movie producer, but was changed after producing the global hit movie, The Expendables in 2010.

Many of his film projects have featured popular actors like Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris,  Wesley Snipes and Jean-Claude Van Damme. He was also the producer of Rambo which starred Sylvester Stallone. Also, he produced Righteous Kill starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

Some of his other film projects include End Game, Edison, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, The Wicker Man, Trespass, and The Black Dahlia.
