Anthony Patrick James McGuiness, born on April 23, 1969, was also a highly successful marketing director for Warner Music Group. He has won several awards for his campaigns on artists including Madonna, Seal, Simply Red and Mike Oldfield. While he was at Warner, he shifted away from alternative rock to electronic dance music and has worked for various artists such as William Orbit and Hysteric Ego.

McGuiness was soon invited to do the remix of "Home" by Chakra. He then approached Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki of Anjunabeats to work on the remix together. The result was a smash hit and they decided to create new tracks together under the name Above & Beyond. The three artists have now become a highly sought after producing group as their remixes have grown in popularity around the world. They have released two studio albums, Tri-State and Group Therapy, as of this time.
