About Tony Iommi

Tony Iommi is a musician and songwriter who is most famous for his association with the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Through his entire career, he has managed to earn $140 million. He is a founding member of the band and has also been with the band consistently even though the other members have gone on to other things.

He played with Rockin’ Chevrolets from 1964 to ’65, Mythology in 1968. Black Sabbath was earlier named Earth but another band emerged around the same time with the same name, which is why the name was changed to “Black Sabbath”. The band is now less functional. However, they do get together to do reunion tours and concerts. Iommi has also signed a deal with Next Films to give the background score for the movies that will be a part of the Black Sabbath series. Tony Iommi has made his fortune by working on a wide variety of musical projects. He gets a lot of money from his royalties too.

Born in Aston, Birmingham in England, in 1948, Anthony Frank “Tony” Iommi played with a number of bands before joining up with Bill Ward and others to form Black Sabbath. On the personal front, Iommi has been married four times and he has a daughter with his second wife, Melinda. He supports the Aston Villa football club along with his band mate Geezer Butler. It is his hometown football club. In the beginning of 2012, he was diagnosed to be in the early stages of lymphoma. However, he announced later on that he was cured of it.
