Kyle Richard Gass, better known as KG or Kage, is an American actor, singer, songwriter and a rock musician. He has an estimated net worth of $3 million. He is best known for being a member of the band Trainwreck and Tenacious D.
Kyle plays the lead guitar and sings backup vocals. He is also the godfather of the son of Jack Black, his longtime friend and other members of the American comedy rock duo. Mr. Gass was born on July 14, 1960, in Walnut Creek, California. Like his music career, his acting career started off at an early age too. He met Tim Robbins who recruited him to the Actor’s Gang. Kyle graduated in 1986 from the UCLA. Kyle met Jack Black at the Actor’s Gang when he was just 16.
Kyle taught Jack Black how to play the strings of a guitar and soon they formed the band Tenacious D. His television career includes several episodes of Fear of a Punk Planet, Good Charlotte and Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous. In 1999, he appeared in Foo Fighters video Learn to Fly along with Black. They were playing the role of a hapless mechanic.
Gass has appeared in the comedy Elf where he played the role of a children’s book author. He did a cameo in the Seinfeld episode The Abstinence directed by Michael Richards. Gass has been a part of Jack’s movies. He was part of Kung Fu Panda, Shallow Hall, Saving Silverman, The Cable Guy, and more. He also appeared in Jacob’s Ladder. Gass have appeared in Friends for 9 episodes too. He starred along with Jack Black in the movie Tenacious D the Pick of the Destiny.
