Founder and lead singer of Bon Jovi, has an estimated net worth of $300 million. He gained fame in the mid-1980s as the lead singer of the hard-rock band Bon Jovi, whose albums Slippery When Wet and New Jersey became multi-platinum sellers. He is also noted for composing the score and theme song (“Blaze of Glory”) for the movie Young Guns II (1990), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Song. He then put the band on hold to make a solo album and the band was reactivated in 1992 with Keep the Faith, but the group's namesake frontman continued to make time for his own projects during the following two decades, including the 1997 sophomore solo album Destination Anywhere. Bon Jovi regrouped in 1999 to begin work on their next studio album. Their 2000 release, Crush, enjoyed overwhelming success all around the world, thanks in part to the smash-hit single "It's My Life", co-written by famous Swedish producer Max Martin. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Monmouth University in 2001.
