Chris de Burgh spent much during his Europe tour in 2011 after the release of his album, Moonfleet and Other Stories, which had two weeks in the UK chart and peaked at No 25. The son of a British diplomat and Irish mother, his debut album in 1975 was Far Beyond These Castle Walls.
Since then he has sold 50 million albums worldwide. He awarded more than 200 gold, silver or platinum awards during his 40 years in the music industry.
Born 15 October 1948 in Venado Tuerto, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, he lives on a £3 million estate in Co Wicklow and net assets at his Ferryman Productions company were £782,000 in 2008-09. He has an estimated net worth of $45 million.
