Niki Taylor is one of the most successful supermodels of the 1990s, known in particular for her fresh, low-glamour beauty. She first appeared on the cover of Seventeen magazine at age 14, and later graced the covers of Cosmopolitan and Vogue and was a star of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue. She also had long-term modeling contracts with fashion company Liz Claiborne and Cover Girl cosmetics and advertisements for Liz Claiborne, Nokia, L’Oreal, Gap, Lee Jeans, Rampage Clothes and Pantene. Taylor's younger sister, Krissy, was also a rising model before a 1995 asthmatic attack led to her death at age 17. Niki herself was almost killed in a one-car auto crash in Georgia on 30 April 2001. After a reported 40 surgeries, she returned to modeling.

Taylor married Nascar driver Burney Lamar on 27 December 2006. She has twin sons, Jake and Hunter, with her former husband, Matt Martinez. The twin was born in 1995; Taylor and Martinez were married from 1994-96. Martinez played in the Arena Football League for two seasons: for the New Orleans Night in 1992 and the Miami Hooters in 1993. Taylor posed in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1997 and 1998 but did not appear on the cover.

Niki Taylor was born on March 5, 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
