She was born in Encino, California and is the daughter of Irene and William. At an early age of six, she was crowned as Baby Miss from San Fernando Valley. In 1964, she started appearing in various commercials promoting Chatty Cathy dolls and Barbie. In 1970, she also gave her voice to the new Chatty Cathy dolls. These dolls had a different appearance from the old dolls. This commercial was on for around two years. This made her quite a familiar personality and she started getting numerous offers for making guest appearances in shows.

McCormick appeared in popular sitcoms, like I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, My Three Sons, Honey west and the Farmer’s Daughter. In Brady Bunch, McCormick played the role of a perky girl which earned her a household name. This television series ran for around five years.
