Marilyn Milian is a former judge at the State Circuit Court, Florida who presently presides over the people’s court, an American television show. She has a net worth of $18 Million.
Marilyn earned her wealth through the her work as a state circuit court judge, an assistant state attorney of the Dade County, serving in the criminal division of the Miami Circuit Court, and also in the Criminal, Civil Divisions and Domestic Violence court in Miami. She is one of the first female judges to preside over the court show. She was also seen appearing on television in The Gorge Lopez Show. She was however seen only occasionally. Marilyn appeared in a soap opera as well, called As the World Turns.
Milian is originally from Astoria, Queens, New York, but she moved to Miami when she was eight. She was born to a Cuban family and has a fluent Spanish. Graduated from St. Brendan High School, she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Miami. At the age of 23, she earned her degree from the Georgetown University Law Center, and later spent a year working at the Harvard Law School.
Milian is married to John Schlesinger, a former assistant in the US attorney. In 2004, he was elected to the 11th Judicial Circuit Court, Florida – the same position which was initially held by Milian. She also was a part of various charitable associations like – Latino commission on AIDS, The Lighthouse For Blind, The Miami-Dade County Teachers award, Hope for Vision and the South Florida Children’s Home Society. Milian is the first Latina judge to host a national court show – The People’s Court.
