Laura Vandervoort is a Canadian actress who got her start doing background work on Canadian shows such as Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy.

She landed a speaking role on the children's series, Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? She guest-starred on several television shows, such as Mutant X, Prom Queen, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye, Troubled Waters, and The Dresden Files.

When Vandervoort was 19 years old, she landed the lead role on the CTV television series Instant Star. The series lasted four seasons. In 2006, she made a cameo appearance in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and joined the cast of the CW series Smallville, playing Clark Kent's cousin, Kara Kent.

In 2009, Vandervoort portrayed the role as Lisa, an extraterrestrial Visitor, on the TV show V. She has posed for PETA's Exotic Skins campaign in 2011. In 2012, she had a small role in Seth MacFarlane's hit comedy film Ted.
