Regarded as one of the richest women in Ireland, Moya Doherty is a Dublin-raised Irish entrepreneur and the producer who has an estimated net worth of $75 million.  She has encompassed the creative industries, theatre, radio and television production and presentation, both in Ireland and internationally. She and her Northern Ireland-born husband McColgan, jointly own the Irish dance show Riverdance, which is touring America, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong this year.

The show is a worldwide acclaimed theatrical phenomenon, which premiered in Dublin’s Point Theatre in February 1995. It had started as a seven-minute interlude at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin that she commissioned as the show's Executive Producer. It has already made the couple £55 million with 22 million people seeing it in 350 venues. Their director’s fees fell to £1m in 2009. The couple is also behind TV company Tyrone Productions, creator of the All Ireland Talent Show, and have other assets.

Moya serves as the director of Tyrone Productions, one of Ireland’s leading independent television production companies, whose output includes drama, documentary and entertainment programming. She was the founding director of the radio station Today FM and, as a member of the Board of the Dublin Theatre Festival, Miss Doherty is heavily involved in promoting new and challenging theatrical work in Ireland.
