American actor Jonathan Edward Bernthal started his career with minor roles on theater and Broadway before he becoming a guest star in a variety of television shows. In 2010, he became famous for portraying the role of Shane Walsh in the AMC series The Walking Dead. After that, he played leading and supporting roles in various films that are critically acclaimed such as Widows, Wind River, Baby Driver, The Accountant, Sicario, Fury and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Jon is the grandson of the late musician and producer Murray Bernthal. After graduating with a degree in Fine Arts at the American Repertory Theatre, Jon Bernthal eventually pursued a career in acting. He was able to perform in more than thirty regional and off-Broadway plays. He was able to get a nomination for the Breakout Performance - Male Award in the series The Walking Dead in the Scream Awards last 2011. He eventually played the role of Joe Teague in L.A. Noir that got aired on TNT.
In the year 2015, Jon got cast as the Punisher or Frank Castle as a part of the MCU web series in Netflix. He initially debuted on Daredevil's second season before he became the star of his own titular series.
