Joe Mantegna is an American actor, writer, director, and producer who has an estimated net worth of $18 million. Mantegna made his acting debut in 1969 during the stage production of Hair while he debuted in Broadway in Working in 1978. He earned a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for portraying Richard Roma in the first American production of David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize–winning play Glengarry Glen Ross, the first of many collaborations with Mamet. He was also awarded the Joseph Jefferson Awards for his performance. Other collaborations with Mamet include the premieres of A Life in the Theatre, The Disappearance of the Jews and Speed-the-Plow on Broadway. Moving to television, he has gained Emmy Award nomination for the roles he played in 3 different miniseries, which include The Rat Pack, The Last Don and The Starter Wife.

He was born Joseph Anthony Mantegna, Jr. on November 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. His mother is called Mary Anne who is a shipping worker from Acquaviva Delle Fonti Italy. His father, Joseph Anthony Mantegna, Sr., worked in insurance sales although he died in 1969 due to tuberculosis. He attended J. Sterling Morton High school in Illinois. His acting career started when he was at Goodman School of Drama.
