With an estimated net worth of $60 million, Howard Lederer is one of the world’s most successful and wealthiest professional poker players. As a child growing up in New Hampshire, his father first introduced Lederer to the game of poker. Lederer is not the only member of his family to have had poker success, as his sister, Annie Duke, is one of the most successful female poker players of all time.

After dropping out of Columbia University, Lederer decided to pursue a career in poker. Nicknamed the “professor” by his other competitors, Lederer is known for knowing the game of poker like the back of his hand. Lederer has won two coveted World Series of Poker bracelets and finished in the money 44 times. Despite his success at the poker time, Lederer was investigated by the United States Department of Justice because of suspected money laundering and gambling violations by his company, Full Tilt Poker. While Full Tilt Poker has denied the accusations, Lederer and the other board members recently settled a civil lawsuit with the US government.
