Franco Columbu is an Italian actor, former bodybuilder and World's Strongest Man competitor.

Franco Columbu started his career as a boxer. He progressed into the sport of Olympic Weightlifting, powerlifting and bodybuilding.

He won the title of Mr. Olympia in 1976 and 1981. In 1977, he competed

In 1977, Columbu competed in the first World's Strongest Man competition. He placed fifth in total points during the competition and injured during a portion on the said contest.

Columbu also did cameo appearance in Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, The Running Man and starred in his own films such as Beretta's Island.

Franco Columbu was born on August 7, 1941 in Ollolai, Sardinia, Italy. He was also known as The Sardinian Strongman.
