An American artist with a net worth of $12 million, Erykah Badu is also a producer, a song-writer an actress as well as an activist. She has made a name for herself and amassed plenty of wealth through her many acting roles and songs. She was born in Dallas in February 26th, 1971 and was named Erica Abi Wright. She has released about five albums, the first one, Baduizm being platinum-certified, and became an international sensation with worldwide recognition bagging several awards including the BET and Grammy Awards.
Apart from her music that blends R&B, Jazz and hip-hop, she was well known for her like for large head-wraps that eventually became her signature. She was well know as the “First lady of Neo-Soul” and was likened to the great Billie Holiday. She has made several appearances in the theatres among them being “Blues Brothers 2000” (1998) and “House of D” (2004). She has also appeared in several documentaries including “Before the Music dies” and The Black Power mixtape”.
