Dr. Laura Schlessinger is an American radio personality and commentator with a net worth of $50 million. Dr. Laura's fame comes from her outspoken conservative views and her self-help books and shows. She currently broadcasts on Sirius XM's Stars station.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Schlessinger was raised in the areas of Brooklyn and Long Island. She received her undergraduate training at Stony Brook University before going to Columbia University to earn a Ph. D. in physiology. When she called into a KABC radio program, Bill Ballance, the host of the program, was so impressed with her wit and humor that he built a weekly segment to feature her. After she began to branch out her entertainment ventures and offer advice on the radio, Dr. Laura entered into a marriage and family counseling program at the University of Southern California and became a licensed therapist.
At the peak of her popularity, Dr Laura's show was the second highest-rated program on the radio.
