Tony Scott was a film director, producer and screenwriter who had an estimated net worth of $200 million. He earned his money while directing many successful Hollywood movies such as Beverly Hills Cop and Man on Fire. Anthony David Leighton Scott was born on June 21, 1944 in Tynemouth, North Tyneside, North East England. He was also the younger brother of the famous film director Ridley Scott. He was the youngest of the three sons of a colonel who was called to serve in Royal Engineers. Tony chose to follow in the footsteps of his brother. He studied at Sunderland Art School where he got a Fine Arts degree.

At 16, he made an appearance in Boy and Bicycle, which was directed by his elder brother Ridley. Both of them received the BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema in 1995. They also received the BAFTA Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment in 2010.

Tony and Ridley co-founded RSA films. It is among the biggest TV production and music video companies. Tony Scott produced several shows with his brother, which included The Good Wife and Coma. Other notable works include Top Gun, True Romance, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, Déjà Vu, and Unstoppable. He committed suicide after being diagnosed with an untreatable brain tumor.
