Gregor Verbinski, who is popularly referred to as Gore Verbinski is a writer and film director from the US. His net worth has been estimated to be a cool $130 million. Most of his money has been made from directing commercially successful movies such as The Ring, and Pirates of the Caribbean, both of which has emerged as one of the biggest box office collectors in recent times. He was the director in the first three movies in the Pirates series.
In early life, Gore was a musician too. He played in many rock bands like Bulldozer, Daredevils, The Drivers, and The Cylon Boys Choir. He also played for The Little Kings with the famous drummer Chris Poobah Bailey. Gore can be seen playing in many music videos. But that’s not where his fame and wealth comes from. It comes from directing movies.
Verbinski made a switchover from music to making commercials. He made commercials for United Airlines, Budweiser, Canon, Skittles, Coca-Cola, and Nike. He won the Cannes Advertising Silver Lion Award and as many as four Clio Awards too. Finally, he switched over to making movies with The Ritual, which was only a short film. The first feature film he directed was Mouse Hunt, a comedy flick. It was a worldwide success. He then made The Mexican with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. The next movie was The Ring. It grossed more than $200 million. Later, he directed Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which was an even bigger success.
