He started his career after graduating at the North Carolina School of the arts, playing a handful of guest roles in the television series such as 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' and 'Quantum Leap'. Bader landed his first major role as 'The Searcher', in the 'Danger Theatre' series, which rolled out in 1993. After that, he ventured into the cinema for the film, 'The Beverly Hillbillies', but still retained the TV gigs, playing a role as Oswald in a series that started in 1995.

He has also worked in animation studios, most prominently that of The Simpsons, Ice Age, The Penguins of Madagascar, and most notably in the animated version of Green Lantern, as the Guy Gardner voice.

He is married, with two kids, to the actress Dulcy Rodgers.
