Thomas Mikal Ford is an American comedian and film producer who is also credited as Tommy Ford. He is best known for his roles as Tommy Strawn in the sitcom Martin, as well as for his recurring role as Mel Parker in the UPN sitcom The Parkers.

In 1996, he received an NAACP Image Awards nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on Martin. When the show ended, he played the role of Lieutenant Malcolm Barker in the revamped-for-1998 FOX detective drama New York Undercover.

Thomas Mikal was Mel Parker, Nikki’s ex-husband and Kim’s father in the sitcom The Parkers on UPN for seven episodes. He played Ben Cummings, one of the characters whose wife cheats on him with the pastor, in The Power Passion.

Ford is also known as “The Pope of Comedy” with his exposure as a judge in the comedy competition show Who’s Got Jokes? starring Bill Bellamy on TV One. His film roles included Mink in the Kid ‘n Play movie Class Act, Tommy Smalls, the brother of Arsenio Halls’ character in Harlem Nights, and a turn in the 1997 Nancy Allen crime drama Against the Law.
