Ruth Buzzi is an American comedian and actress who has performed in theater, film, and television, and has an estimated net worth of $10 million. She was born Ruth Ann Buzzi on July 24, 1936 in Westerly, Rhodes Island, USA, and grew up in Wequetequock, Connecticut.

Buzzi moved to California at the age of seventeen and attended the Pasadena Playhouse for the Performing Arts, where she became classmates with Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman. Hse also studied dance, voice and theater while she trained as a hairdresser.

Buzzi began her professional acting career in theater at the age of nineteen, and has toured with Rudy Vallee. She has also worked with talented performers, including Barbra Streisand, Joan Rivers, Dom LeLuise, Bernadette Peters and Carol Burnett.

When Buzzi worked with DeLuise in a comedy duo, she got national attention for her performance. Since then, she got a role in the Broadway production of Sweet Charity along with Gwen Verdon. She was cast in a role that made her a household name on the hit series Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. She received five Emmy nominations and won the Golden Globe Award for best female performer (Comedy or Variety) in 1973.

She is also an investor,along with her husband Kent Perkins. Their investments include a shopping center, a ranch, a farm, oil wells, gas wells, minerals, and numerous other ventures around Texas. The couple also has a car collection with an estimated value of $2.5 million, and which includes a Rolls Royce, Bentley and several antique Jaguars.

The Buzzi couple are also supporters of a number of children’s charities, as well as a rescue ranch for dogs. Recently, Ruth was honored as one of the “Great Women of Texas” by the Fort Worth Business Press. She was also a member of the TV Hall of Fame.
