The actor, comedian, producer and writer, Martin Short, has a net worth of $25 million. His popularity took a turn for the best due to his appearance and him hosting Saturday Night Live. He has been on the show on and off since 1984.

Before getting on SNL, however, Short gained popularity in Canada, where he was born. He was part of several Toronto-based comedy theater troupes and moved to New York in 1979, at the age of 29. The audience loved his most popular characters: Ed Grimley and Jiminy Glick. This boosted his opportunities and he started playing roles in movies like Innerspace, Father of the Bride, Mars Attacks!, Jungle 2 Jungle, Three Amigos, Pure Luck and a Hallmark production of Alice in Wonderland, alongside Miranda Richardson, Whoopi Goldberg, Gene Wilder, Christopher Lloyd and Ben Kingsley.

More recently, he has appeared in 2005 on Law and Order: SVU. He also had a Broadway show until 2007 called Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, where he used some of his more popular characters like Grimley, Cohen, and Glick.
