Fred Armisen is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer and musician who has an estimated net worth of $8 million. He best known for his part as a prime time player on the NBC late-night production Saturday Night Live (SNL) between 2002 and 2013.

Born Fereydun Robert Armisen on December 4, 1966 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, he grew up in Valley Stream, New York and where he went to the same school as fellow SNL alumnus Jim Breuer. He then attended the School Of Visual Arts in New York City but dropped out to pursue a career as a drummer.

Armisen moved in 1988 to Chicago to play drums for the punk band Trenchmouth. He played background drums for the Blue Man Group in the nineties but left music in order to be on television. He appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Crank Yankers, and Adult Swim, eventually landing a part on SNL in 2002. He stayed on SNL until 2013. He has had parts in the films Eurotrip, Anchorman,Cop Out and Confessions pf a Shopaholic and co-stars in the quirky comedy sketch show Portlandia (which he is also a co-producer) with Carrie Brownstein. He as well serves as the bandleader and frequent drummer for the The 8G Band, the Late Night with Seth Meyers house band.
