Aisha Tyler is an American actress, stand-up comedian, and author. She was born in San Francisco, California on September 18, 1970. She is both of African-American and Native American descent. At an early age, she already had an interest in comedy. She went to McAteer High School in San Francisco where she had a special program called McAteer School of the Arts. She attended the improv and theater classes. She then went to Dartmouth College where she earned a degree in political science with a minor in environmental policy. She became a member of the co-ed fraternity The Tabard. She also founded the Dartmouth Rockapellas and sang with the all-female a capella group devoted to spreading social awareness through their songs. She briefly worked for a San Francisco advertising firm. She toured the country to pursue her comedy career and in 1996, she finally moved to Los Angeles.
Tyler is famous for her role as Andrea Marino in the first season of Ghost Whisperer. She also voiced for the character Lana Kane in Archer. She also had recurring roles in 24, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Talk Soup (1991) and Friends as Charlie Wheeler. She worked with Scott Rockett while performing at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood. While hosting Talk Soup, she also worked with Rocket who produced E! True Hollywood Story (1996) at E! Entertainment Television. She currently works as a co-host in The Talk where she replaced Holly Robinson Peete. She is a regular contributor to Glamour and Jane magazines. She has her own podcast called Girl on Guy with Aisha Tyler where she regularly invites her comedian friends to be her guests.
