Dave Eggers is an American writer, editor, and publisher who has an estimated net worth of $8 million. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 12, 1970, he attended high school in Lake Forest, Illinois, where he was classmates with actor Vince Vaughn. He then went to University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign with the aim to earn a degree in journalism, but encountered several hindrances regarding family matters. Such events were chronicled in his first work.
His first book titled A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius is a best-selling memoir and was actually a Pulitzer Prize finalist. He has already written several novels as well as a collection of short stories. Eggers also founded McSweeney's, an independent publishing house that publishes a quarterly literary journal, Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern. It also publishes a DVD-based review of short films, a monthly magazine, the Voice of Witness.
This famous American personality has established himself as an educator and as a philanthropist. He launched a San Francisco-based tutoring and writing center for young people, the 826 National. Through time, the center has expanded into seven chapters across the United States. Under the 826 National, Eggers established the ScholarMatch, a non-profit organization that helps students go to college by finding donors.
