Angela Bassett born on 16th August 1958 is an American actress with a total net worth of $20 million. She is famously known for playing the role of Voletta Wallace in “Notorious” and also Tina Turner in the movie “What’s Love Got to Do With It”.

From an early age, she has shown a keen interest in acting. In 1980, she joined the Yale University and completed her B.A in African American studies. In 1986, she graduated from the Yale School of Drama with a degree in Master of Fine Arts. She started as a stage performer as J.E Franklin’s Black Girl at the Second Stage Theatre. She made her Hollywood debut in F/X and did many noteworthy films such as Malcolm X and Boyz n the Hood. She even won an Academy and a Golden Globe Award for the portrayal of Tina Turner. Angela played the role of Dr. Catherine Banfield in the hit TV show “ER”. She even lent her voice for an episode for the TV show “The Simpsons” as the First Lady Michelle Obama. In 2008, she was awarded the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.

Angela married Courtney B Vance in 1997 and has two children from the relationship – a boy named Slater Josiah, and a girl, Bronwyn Golden. She’s a staunch supporter of the program of Arts for the youth and an ambassador for the UNICEF.
