Born on 14th March 1879 in Germany, Albert Einstein was a theoretical physicist who is perhaps best known for his formula of equivalence between mass and energy (E=mc2). This has been named as one of the most renowned equations of the modern era. His net worth, post-death, comes to a total of $12 million.

His wealth is a result of the patents and publications on his numerous well-known theories. Einstein’s inquisitive approach towards science started after his father showed him a pocket compass. He wanted to know what’s causing the needle to move. At the age of sixteen, he took the Swiss federal polytechnic exam, where he failed to acquire the qualifying marks. However, he performed exceptionally well in Mathematics and Physics.

On the advice of the principal, he completed his secondary education from the Aargau Cantonal School. At the age of 17, he got enrolled as a student in a four-year Mathematics and Physics diploma course from the ETH Zurich. In his quest for knowledge, he came out with many theories like the “theory of relativity”, and the “quantum theory”, using which, the concepts of “particle theory” and the movement of molecules was discovered.

Albert Einstein married Maric in 1902 – the couple had their first son named Hans Albert Einstein. They had a second son Eduard. After sharing a long courtship, the couple got divorced on 14th February 1919. A few years later Einstein married Elsa Lowenthal.
