Case began her career as a model when the family moved to Chatsworth, California. At the age of 17, she caught the eye of a scout while attending a modelling event. She was offered a modelling career in Japan and went there for five months, then returned to Los Angeles.

Sharon Case landed a part in theater, credited for her lead roles in the musicals Grease, The Wizard, and The Nutcracker. She then started her television career when she played the role of Dawn Winthrop on the ABC soap opera General Hospital in November 1989.

Case was a guest star on several shows, including Doggie Howser M.D., Beverly Hills 90210, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, and Cheers. She went back to working in soap operas in the mid-90s and played recurring roles on As the World Turns and Valley of the Dolls.
