Paget Valerie Brewster is an actress, comedian, and singer with an estimated net worth of $9 million. She rose to prominence after playing Kathy on the fourth season of the NBC sitcom Friends. On the crime drama Criminal Minds, she made her breakthrough as FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Emily Prentiss.

Brewster was born in the Massachusetts town of Concord. Her father, Galen Brewster, was a school administrator, and her mother, Hathaway Brewster, was a government official. She grew up in Massachusetts and attended Parsons School of Design in New York City. She made her acting debut during her first year and dropped out of design school to pursue her acting career. Brewster moved to San Francisco in the mid-1990s and began taking acting lessons.

Brewster hosted Paget, a late-night talk show on KPIX-TV in the San Francisco Bay Area, for 65 episodes between 1994 and 1995. Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Huff both featured her. Ms. Indestructible, the female lead in James Gunn's low-budget superhero comedy, The Specials, was her first film role in 2000. In the independent film The Big Bad Swim, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, she played Amy Pierson, a calculus instructor who is afraid of water.

Judy Sebben/Birdgirl was a  recurring character she played on the animated series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law as a voice actor in 2005. Brewster had a long run on Criminal Minds, where she played multilingual Supervisory Special Agent Emily Prentiss before CBS released her and A. J. Cook from their contracts in a cost-cutting measure in the sixth season. Both she and Cook were rehired and retained for the following season after fan complaints. It's unclear how much she was paid per episode, but we can assume it was at least $100,000. That's because Cook and her co-star Kirsten Vangsness secured raises so that they could compete with their male co-stars. Brewster revealed via Deadline in February 2012 that she would be leaving Criminal Minds at the end of the season to pursue a comedy television career. In season nine, for the 200th episode, Brewster reprised her role as Emily Prentiss, and in season 11 as a special guest star. Brewster made her return to Criminal Minds as a series regular in 2016.

On NBC's long-running crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Brewster played bureau chief PDA Paula Foster in the Public Integrity Unit of the District Attorney's office. In the 13th-season finale, her character handled the case against SVU commanding officer Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek), who was accused of murder after waking up next to a dead woman.

Brewster appears on The Exciting Adventure Hour, a monthly staged production with the style of old-time radio filmed at Largo in Los Angeles. In the "Beyond Belief" segments, she portrays Sadie Doyle, an alcoholic socialite who can interact with the supernatural, alongside her partner, Frank (Paul F. Tompkins). Brewster made her Modern Family debut as Trish in episode 20, Flip Flop, in early April 2013, playing an art specialist who is dating Gloria's ex-husband, Javier. Brewster made an appearance on Comedy Central's Drunk History television series in episode 106 in August 2013. Brewster first appeared on Community in January 2015. She was cast in a new ABC sitcom called St. Francis, which premiered in February 2014. Will You Accept This Rose, a Nerdist podcast hosted by Arden Myrin about The Bachelor franchise, features Brewster on a regular basis.

Brewster announced on the March 30, 2006, episode of Late Night with Conan O'Brien that she had received a handwritten note from Hugh Hefner asking her to pose for Playboy. She strongly considered the offer, but despite her parents' approval and the fact that she admired Playboy more than magazines like Maxim and FHM, she ultimately refused. She has volunteered with the Los Angeles Young Storytellers Program as an actress.

Brewster got engaged to Steve Damstra on March 17, 2013. She announced it on Twitter by sharing a picture of the jade engagement ring she was wearing on her finger. Damstra is a member of the bands Whirlwind Heat and Folded Light. Brewster and Damstra married in Los Angeles, California, on November 28, 2014, in a ceremony officiated by their best friend and Criminal Minds co-star, Matthew Gray Gubler. They reside in Los Angeles.
