Lupita Nyong’o started her acting career when she acted in several school plays. Her first professional acting debut in Romeo and Juliet, as she portrayed the role of Juliet.

She was notable for her role in the film, 12 Years a Slave. Nyong’o was nominated for several awards which includes Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She won the Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Supporting Actress.
