Lupe Ontiveros was an American film and television actress.

Ontiveros began her acting career with a role in the 1983 film El Norte. She also played Rosalita, a Hispanic maid hired to assist in the packing and moving of the Walsh family, in the hit adventure film The Goonies in 1985.

She worked with Gregory Nava in several films such as My Family/Mi Familia in 1995 and Selena in 1997. She also appeared in the Academy Award winning film As Good as It Gets.

In Selena, she portrayed the role of Yolanda Saldívar, the murderer of Tejano superstar Selena. 

In 2000, she appeared in the film Chuck & Buck. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2000 Independent Spirit Awards.

In 2002, she co-starred with America Ferrera in the film Real Women Have Curves. Her performance in the film earned her and her co-star a Special Jury Prize at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. She and Ferrera appeared again in a comedic film, Our Family Wedding.

She had an appearance on Desperate Housewives, as Gabrielle's mother-in-law, Juanita Solis. She received an Emmy nomination for "Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" for the part.

She also had recurring guest roles on the television series Veronica's Closet, for which she won an ALMA Award in 1998.  She was a guest star on Hill Street Blues, Red Shoe Diaries, Resurrection Blvd, Cory in the House, and King of the Hill, among other TV series.

Guadalupe Moreno was born on September 17, 1942 in El Paso, Texas, USA. She studied at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, where she received a bachelor's degree in social work. She was married to Elias Moreno and had three sons. She died on July 26, 2012 after she battled with liver cancer. She was 69.
