Lucy Lawless is a New Zealand-born actress with a net worth of $18 million. Known for her music skills, she played the title song of the TV series “Xena, Warrior Princess”, which ran from 1995 to 2001. She is renowned for her acting prowess and her charity work.
She was born in Auckland, New Zealand and is the daughter of Frank and Julie Ryan. Her father was a banker and her mother, Julie, was a teacher by profession. She comes from a big Irish Catholic family, the fifth child out of seven children. At one TV interview, Lucy had said that her father was from Quilty and her great grandfather arrived in New Zealand as a convict.
She delivered her first music performance when she was 10 years of age. Her music career really grew in the later years. Since 2007, she has gone on tours every year. Lucy has come out with many albums and concert DVDs. While in her secondary school, she began acting. She studied at the University of Auckland where she learned many foreign languages like French, German and Italian. She gave up learning opera after she came to know that it required changes in her lifestyle. Lucy took up jazz and violin instead and thought of becoming a singer.
When she was 28, she started out for an overseas experience where she bumped on to her future husband Garth Lawless. The couple married in 1988. They had their first child in the same year. The couple however separated in 1998, and Lawless then married Robert Tapert. She has two sons from this relationship.
