Kim Novak began her career as an actress when she was spotted by an agent while she and her friends is in Los Angeles waiting to have an extra work in film.
She made her screen debut in The French Line in 1954. Also on the same year, her first appearance in the film, Pushover opposite Fred MacMurray and Philip Carey.
In 1955, she had a supporting role in the movie, The Man with the Golden Arm. In the film, Picnic wherein she won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer and was nominated for the BAFTA Film Award for Best Foreign Actress.
In 1958, Novak appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Vertigo. That same year, she did a cameo appearance in Bell, Book and Candle.
Novak tried herself to produce her own film, Boys Night Out, in partnership with Filmways Productions.
