Through out her early career, she has appeared in guest-starring roles in several TV shows and television movies such as the roles in the projects Big Brother Jake, Baby of the Bride, Phenom, Melrose Place, and Baywatch. Her first major film role was in 1996 when she played the role of a teenage drug addict Grace in The Crow: City of Angels. She also auditioned for the role of Mary Camden in 7th Heaven but she ended up portraying the household name Lucy Camden-Kinkirk.

Beverley had a small part in The Amanda Show in 2000. She played Erica Enders in Disney Original Movie Right on Track in 2003. During the hiatus of 7th Heaven in 2005, she played a role in the horror sequel Saw 2. Since the show ended its eleven-year run, Mitchell has appeared in several television movies and made her dream of becoming a country music singer. In 2006, she released her debut album, Beverley Mitchell.
