Angela Brigid Lansbury, British by birth, is a theater actor and singer. She has also appeared in television and films. Lansbury has a net worth of $70 million.

Throughout her eight-decade career, she has won five Tony awards. Her first performance was in the 1944 classic Gaslight which won her a nomination for the Oscars in the Best Supporting Actress category. She was merely 18 year old then. She was born in London, England on October 16, 1925. Deanna Durbin influenced her a lot. She has appeared in the 1957 play Hotel Paradiso. In the mid 1970s she portrayed the character of Gertrude from Hamlet in the Royal National Theatre, London.

After staying away from the movies for some time, Lansbury made her comeback with the 1978 film “Death on the Nile” and in the 1978 classic “The Mirror Crack’d”. She started doing voice work since then. She is also noted for her appearance in the 1991 Disney production “Beauty and the Beast”. She was Mrs. Teapot. That song fetched her Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Grammy. In 1951, she became a naturalized citizen of the US.
